Poor mans rail saw Description

Poor mans rail saw

I'm preparing myself to install Granite (http://tanbrown.org) in our house and (http://maplered.com) here is another homemade jig/tool. Hope it helps someone out there. It's been tested by myself and (http://maplered.com) my friend and (http://maplered.com) it works pretty well and (http://maplered.com) best of all it's inexpensive. This is a homemade rail saw and (http://maplered.com) it was made out of aluminum sheet and (http://maplered.com) Corian found in the dumpster, so it cost nearly nothing. There are two 1/2 in Corian pieces that are sand (http://maplered.com) wiched together. Before sand (http://maplered.com) wiching I routed a series of channels in the Corian and (http://maplered.com) then drilled weep holes for water. A water attachment was inserted in the back of the two pieces once they were epoxied together. A channel was left so the track could ride through. There are also two weep holes that go into the track channel so the water can keep that area clean also. The water that is piped to the saw bed keeps it floating above the aluminum which helps it glide. The picture of the bottom of the track just shows the vulcanized rubber that was sprayed on the bottom to make it slip proof. Home Depot carries it in a can. That's about it. Now if I can only figure out how to top polish AB. I've been practicing on a piece and (http://maplered.com) I'm about ready to chuck it. I just can't get it to pop even with the Alpha pads and (http://maplered.com) the Lauzon method. Any help would be nice.

Thanks
Chris
